    **KOMAN Government Solutions** has an immediate need for a **Project Scientist** to support our operations at **Eglin Air Force Base** . The Project Scientist will be responsible for supporting the team on environmental compliance projects to include a variety of facility/site assessments, soil/surface water/groundwater sampling, environmental management plan developments, permit renewals/applications, and environmental training.

    + Salary Range of $50-$60k.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Provides support to execute and maintain base wide air quality and water quality compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements on 3 air force installations

    + Assures compliance is maintained with Federal, State and local regulatory guidance at military facilities

    + Coordinates independent and team inspections, site assessments, and field sampling

    + Assists field team member air quality inspections to assess performance and assure overall environmental compliance

    + Assists with the modification of the SWPPP to encompass future mission growth

    + Assesses SWPPP, SWMP, MSGP and other regulatory stormwater documents to improve inspection process and BMPs on site

    + Provides regulatory guidance to assist facilities with solving compliance issues

    + Works with the compliance assistance team to collect air emission inventory data including physical pieces of equipment and chemical processes on air force installations

    + Performs MS4 industrial, construction, and industrial inspections

    + Creates detailed technical documents to outline findings and explain corrective actions

    + Assists with storm water site assessments to ensure proper BMPs are in place to prevent illicit discharge

    + Conducts all field work in accordance with OSHA guidelines and FDEP standard operating procedures

    + Assists with managing the government air quality emissions regulatory database, APIMS and assists with chemical data entry in EESOH-MIS

    + Communicates and coordinates effectively with off-site and on-site team

    + Participates in environmental audits

    + Forges positive relationship with the clients and peers

    + Will receive training to become the Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) for the team

    + Assists with maintaining task progress racking

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + 1-3 years of experience as an Environmental Scientist or similar title.

    + Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in engineering, environmental Science, or related science.

    + Computer skills required: Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe.

    + Current OSHA 40-hour training for Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) or ability to obtain before commencing employment.

    + Ability to work overtime when required.

    + Valid Drivers License
