General Laborer

Pay: $23.79/hour

Shift: day start time anytime between 5am-7am

Job Description

The Environmental Impact Teammate is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of operational areas including buildings, walkways, fence lines, and other areas, ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. The role involves tasks such as sweeping, weeding, painting, debris disposal, power washing, and various maintenance operations. The position aims to achieve excellence in all facets, reducing accidents and errors while increasing efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities

+ Ensure all operational areas are kept clean and orderly.

+ Perform sweeping, weeding, painting, debris disposal, and power washing.

+ Daily tasks include sweeping walkways, power washing walls and glass, removing rubbish, emptying trash bins, and painting buildings, concrete barriers, and handrails.

+ Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

+ Provide a safe environment for all employees, customers, and visitors.

+ Keep general facility areas clear of debris and trash.

+ Regularly power wash and paint safety barricades, handrails, and buildings under direction.

+ Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment.

+ Support the focus on maintaining a World Class and customer-friendly facility.

+ Perform related duties and projects as directed by the supervisor.

+ Notify managers of major repairs or additions needed for building systems.

+ Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties.

+ Learn and safely operate forklift and person lift to complete tasks.

Essential Skills

+ Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally.

+ Ability to stand on feet all day.

+ Work independently with good attendance.

+ Comfortable working in dirty environments, not allergic to dust and dirt.

+ Comfortable working in confined spaces and with heights.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with driving a manual transmission is preferred.

Work Environment

The position operates on a Monday to Friday schedule from 8am to 4pm. It is regularly exposed to all weather conditions and physical hazards such as noise, fumes, and dirt. Safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment are required to mitigate risks. The workload can be unpredictable, with substantial pressure during peak times. Extra hours may be necessary occasionally, but travel is not required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tacoma, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.79 - $23.79/hr.
