Job Title: HVAC Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled HVAC Technician to install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork. The ideal candidate will diagnose and troubleshoot issues, perform routine maintenance, and ensure systems operate efficiently.
Responsibilities
+ Install, maintain, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ductwork.
+ Diagnose and troubleshoot HVAC system issues and provide effective solutions.
+ Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure HVAC systems are operating efficiently.
+ Replace or repair defective components, such as motors, thermostats, and compressors.
+ Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and safety standards.
+ Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions about HVAC systems.
+ Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including service reports and inventory management.
+ Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and best practices.
+ Assist journeyman technicians with the delivery, installation, and troubleshooting of heating and cooling equipment.
+ Assist with power vacuuming of furnace systems, cleaning up job sites, lifting/moving units, etc.
Essential Skills
+ High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or HVAC certification preferred.
+ Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with a focus on residential systems.
+ Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and maintenance procedures.
+ Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
+ Strong communication and customer service skills.
+ Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ EPA certification is ideal.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 6+ months' experience or familiarity with heating cooling installation, electrical, construction skilled labor, or mechanical aptitude.
+ Comfortable bending, crouching, kneeling, and lifting 100+ lbs with team members.
+ Knowledge of tools such as impact drill, sawzall, wire strippers, lighted level, Phillips and flat screwdrivers, 8 oz hammer, drywall saw, ¼ malco bit, 4’’ bit adapter for impact drill, headlamp or flashlight, channel locks.
+ Basic hand tools and the ability to purchase power tools as needed.

Work Environment
Join a team-oriented environment that operates Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 5 PM, with potential for 60+ hour weeks due to new projects. Once trained, you will be required to be on call every six weeks with compensation. You will be paired with a journeyman and may start your day either on-site or at the shop address. The dress code includes jeans, work boots, and a work-appropriate tee shirt, with t-shirts provided. Basic hand tools are required.

This is a Permanent position based out of Ankeny, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
