    Job Title: Marine Electrician

    Position Overview:

    We are looking for a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Marine Electrician to join our team. This role involves the inspection, repair, and refurbishment of electrical systems aboard ships. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marine electrical systems and the ability to interpret technical documentation to ensure high-quality work.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Read and interpret work specifications, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical issues on marine vessels.

    + Install and route cabling aboard ships (excluding pin connectorization or live terminations).

    + Repair and refurbish shipboard electrical systems, including lighting and communication systems.

    + Prepare reports, order necessary materials, and promptly report any safety or mechanical concerns.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    + Solid understanding of electrical theory and marine electrical systems.

    + Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical diagrams and schematics.

    + Hands-on experience with wiring, troubleshooting, and using electrical meters and tools.

    + Certifications: Electrician and Marine Electrician certifications required.

    + Mandatory training: VSRA and OSHA certifications.

    Work Environment:

    This position is based aboard ships and involves working in a marine environment. Candidates must adhere to strict safety protocols and be comfortable working in confined or elevated spaces. The role focuses on cable routing and system repairs without live electrical terminations.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00/hr.
