    Job Title:Banquet Captain

     

    Reports To:General Manager

    Summary

    Manage Banquet Service to ensure outstanding service to all guests by performing the following duties.

    Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    + Greeting guests, answering questions, and addressing any request or concerns

    + Oversee the setup and breakdown of Banquet room, including table arrangement, decorations, and equipment

    + Supervising banquet staff, including servers, bartenders, and other event staff.

    + Managing the event timeline, ensuring timely service and efficient operations

    + Coordinating with Kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth execution of food and beverage services.

    + Ensuring food quality and service standards are being maintained.

    + Quickly and efficiently addressing any issues that may arise during the event, ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining high standards of service throughout

    + Billing out all events.

    + Creating post event reports to include customer feedback

    + Managing inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper supplies for the event

    + Attending Staff Meetings and BEO meetings to discuss upcoming events, company policies and guest complaints, and make recommendations to improve service and ensure proficient operation

    + Preparing work schedules and completing necessary documentation

    + Ensuring all brand standards and initiatives are implemented and followed.

    + Conducting regular physical inspections to ensure all standards of excellence are being met.

    + Ensuring the cleanliness of Meeting space and surrounding areas.

    + Assisting in checking all fixtures, equipment and conditions (lights, music, heating/cooling, furniture, wallpaper, etc.) for proper operations, settings and maintenance. Report deficiencies.

    + Serving as the liaison between guests. The event staff, and hotel Management

    + Detailing Banquet and Lila’s Events

    + Undertaking any additional duties as required.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Directly supervise associates in the Banquet Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Requirements

    Education and/or Experience

     

    One to three years related experience and/or training.

     

    Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Computer Skills

     

    To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic knowledge of Micros Point of Sale Systems.

     

    Language Skills

     

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills

     

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

     

    Reasoning Ability

     

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The associate works in an environment open to the general public.
