    ROLE SUMMARY:

    Plans and implements the educational program for children birth to 21 years of age. Performs related work as requested.

    ROLE RESPONSIBILIITES:

    + Prepare and implement age-appropriate curriculum to maintain, improve and or enhance the educational functioning of the students.

    + Maintain daily lesson plans, data records, and attendance.

    + Develop reports on each student’s individual progress, implementing goals and objectives.

    + Responsible for periodic evaluations and updates, preparing reports and portfolio assessments for annual review meetings and requested review meetings.

    + Attends to the physical needs of the students including but not limited to feeding, toileting, diapering, and positioning.

    + Records all meetings with team members and is responsible for the case management notes.

    + Integrates interdisciplinary objectives and strategies in the classroom.

    + Attends staff meetings and a minimum of 15 hours of staff development training annually.

    + Supervises teacher assistants, aides, substitutes, and volunteers.

    + Maintains an orderly classroom and follows health, safety, and sanitation procedures.

    + With training, carries, transfers, and positions students.

    + Assists with personal care as needed.

     

    JOB TYPE: Sub (On-Call)

     

    TYPICAL SHIFT: Monday - Friday 8:15 am - 2:45 pm

     

    HOURLY RATE: $22.00 per hour

    Requirements

    ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

    + New York State Department of Education Certificate of Qualification in Special Education

    + For SCIS and Day Care - NYS Department of Education CQ in Early Childhood

    + Valid NYS Drivers License

    *All hires must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License at the time of hire.
