    Sr Staff Accountant Golden Entertainment Corporate (Las Vegas, NV)

    Description:

    Summary:

    Responsible for properly performing financial activities related to the Accounting activities of the Finance Department, in accordance with established policies, procedures and controls.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    + Treats clients and fellow associates with courtesy and consideration at all times within public areas or staff support sections of the property

    + Analyze and reconcile balance sheet accounts in a timely, effective manner

    + Reviews and verifies accuracy of financial data

    + Prepare special financial reports as needed

    + Assist outside auditors when necessary

    + Communicate with the CFO and department heads regarding accounting and internal control issues

    + Preparejournal entries and maintain adaquate audit trails.

    + Receive checks and payments for deposit

    + Provides training or ad-hoc assistance to staff accountants

    + Looks for ways to improve the efficiency of their work through process or system improvements

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    Requirements:

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related area from a four-year college or university; or four years related experience and/or training in General Ledger accounting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

    + Works with a high degree of independence in performing accounting and financial activities

    + Possesses a thorough knowledge of GAAP, standard office practices and procedures, and computer applications as related to the hospitality industry

    + Able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

    + Ability to work with other department personnel, co-workers and management

    + Pleasant personality, team oriented and enjoys working with and assisting people

    + At least 21 years of age

    + High school diploma or equivalent

    + Degree in Accounting or some formal accounting education preferred

    + Ability to apply common sense reasoning to variety of situations

    + Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

    + Verify right to work in the United States

    + Occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and/or chest levels

    + Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, kneel, sit, stand, and walk

    + Constant use of hearing and vision, distinguish between shades of color, and use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity
