THE POSITION
Broaden your leadership skills while using your experience in medical record maintenance! The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Greene is seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Medical Records Supervisor to help lead our medical records team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Medical Records Supervisor, you will oversee the development and maintenance of inmates’ medical records for SCI Greene. Your duties will include managing and reviewing work assignments, establishing work plans and goals for the work unit, and providing training and support. In this position, you will organize, maintain, and monitor the integrated health record system for inmates. This will include coding diseases and operation in records and ensuring medical reports and entries are in accordance with department, state, and federal policies. You can expect to file, withdraw, and issue health care records according to confidentiality guidelines, as well as prepare and transfer records for inmates paroling or being transferred from the institution. Additionally, you will present medical records in court cases involving the subpoena of medical records.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
+ Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
+ You must have possession of a valid Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate or a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) certificate issued by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), or eligibility for certification including completion of an AHIMA approved RHIT or RHIA Health Information Management education program.
Post Employment Requirement:
+ Employees who meet the Necessary Special Requirement based on the eligibility option for the RHIT or RHIA certification must obtain one of these certifications within 12 months of employment.
Other Requirements:
+ Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
+ PA residency requirement (https://www.employment.pa.gov/Additional%20Info/Pages/default.aspx) is currently waivedfor this title.
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
