As a Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology of the Market Risk department, you will contribute to the rapid expansion of a strategic visualization and reporting platform. You will be an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology solutions in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
+ Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
+ Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
+ Work with product owners, scrum master and UX to ensure the smooth delivery of features and valuable solutions.
+ Contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide and Risk Technology frameworks, tools, standards and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
+ Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of strategic, leading-edge technologies
+ Contribute to a high performing, dynamic team and help them minimize impediments to development progress.
+ Address design and functionality issues in partnership with the technical lead and colleagues.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
+ Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
+ Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
+ Proficient in React with the ability to leverage best practices evolving UI engineering landscape including: unit testing, modern standards for CSS, browser support, responsiveness, accessibility, developer tooling, build tools, deployment strategies, scalable build patterns, enterprise engineering (scalability, resiliency), quality assurance, visual and acceptance testing
+ Proficient in Frontend languages: TypeScript and JavaScript, and backend languages: Java and Node.js, build tools such as Webpack/Vite, common patterns in ag-grid, Highcharts, d3 and practical cloud native experience, testing libraries such as Jest and React Testing Library
+ Implement data sourcing strategies to collect and integrate data from various internal and external sources.
+ Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness across all data sources while collaborating with data providers and stakeholders to understand data requirements and ensure seamless data flow.
+ Adhere to legal and jurisdiction-based requirements related to Market Risk reporting, while ensuring the platform meets all regulatory requirements and standards.
