About the role
We're on the hunt for a dynamic Senior Automation Engineer who’s not just experienced—but passionate about revolutionizing health care products manufacturing. In this high-impact role, you’ll spearhead the design, deployment, and support of smart automated systems within a tightly regulated cGMP environment. Your mission: engineer solutions that streamline processes, enhance data integrity, and raise the bar for compliance—all while fueling innovative capital projects and day-to-day operations.
Your responsibilities
+ Lead design, implementation, and lifecycle management of control systems (PLC, HMI, SCADA, DCS) for manufacturing / utility operations.
+ Serve as automation SME and ensure compliance with GxP, FDA, EU Annex 11, and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
+ Validate and maintain automated systems; integrate MES, historians, robotics, and sensor technologies.
+ Manage capital projects involving automation and electrical systems; oversee commissioning and vendor collaboration.
+ Coordinate cross-functional teams to implement process improvements and deliver automation solutions on time and budget.
+ Resolve complex automation issues and implement predictive maintenance strategies using IoT and analytics.
+ Partner with vendors to identify and integrate cutting-edge technologies for performance optimization.
+ Drive regulatory alignment (GMP, FDA, ISO, EHS) across automation activities and support audits, validation, and calibration efforts.
+ Lead automation support for system upgrades, equipment commissioning, and tech transfers.
+ Assess and mitigate risks across projects using structured frameworks; facilitate workshops and track mitigation plans.
+ Proactively implement strategies to prevent operational disruptions.
+ Introduce new technologies / automation enhancements to boost manufacturing efficiency and quality.
+ Provide hands-on engineering support for equipment challenges; streamline workflows and source innovative solutions.
The experience we're looking for
+ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Automation, or related Engineering field; 5+ years in industrial automation or controls engineering.
+ Proficient in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider) and SCADA systems (Wonderware, Ignition, Factory Talk, PCS7); strong command of industrial networking protocols (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, PROFIBUS).
+ Solid understanding of ISA-95, S88, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and data integrity standards.
+ Familiar with robotics, IoT, motion control, power distribution, motor controls, and VFDs.
+ Skilled in schematic design using AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
+ Experienced in regulatory compliance: GMP, FDA, ISO 9001/13485, EHS, electrical codes, and safety standards.
+ Strong project management, budgeting, and leadership skills across large-scale initiatives.
+ Sector experience spanning pharma, automotive, food & beverage, energy, and high-volume manufacturing.
+ Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and cybersecurity for industrial automation systems.

Salary Range
USD $95,000.00 - $143,000.00
Hiring Range: 95,000 - 119,000K
Pay Transparency
The base salary range for this role will vary based on experience in job and industry, training and education, skills relevant to the position, and other factors permitted by law. In addition to the base salary, the position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, which is subject to change each year.
