The Red Gate Group is seeking an experienced IT Strategy Mission Analyst and Strategic Communications Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team supporting the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA). This role is embedded within a high-impact Program Management Office (PMO) responsible for managing a sophisticated, enterprise-wide IT system in support of national security missions.
This position requires a unique blend of technical acumen and strategic communication expertise. The ideal candidate will be adept at simplifying complex technical information, crafting impactful messaging for senior leaders, and managing the development of both digital and print communications products. You will work alongside IT and communications professionals to shape internal and external narratives that support the mission and vision of the agency’s CIO and enterprise modernization efforts.
You will be responsible for identifying and solving communication and workflow challenges, while ensuring message consistency, audience alignment, and creative execution. This is an opportunity for a seasoned communications professional to operate at the intersection of national defense, innovation, and strategic storytelling.
In this role, you will:
+ Identify inefficiencies in content workflows and propose process or technology-based solutions
+ Develop high-impact messaging and visual materials including apps, blogs, technical guides, briefings, and executive communications
+ Translate complex IT and enterprise transformation efforts into clear, audience-appropriate narratives
+ Lead design, layout, and production of multimedia and print materials using tools like Adobe Creative Suite
+ Prepare senior leadership communications, including speeches, talking points, and congressional briefings
+ Plan and manage multi-channel communication strategies across the DoD and Intelligence Community
+ Monitor communication channels and manage responses to internal and external inquiries
+ Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass a CI Polygraph
+ Minimum 12 years of experience supporting strategic communications in the DoD, IC, or federal government
+ Minimum 5 years of experience in IT consulting or communications within an IT-focused environment
+ Bachelor’s degree in Strategic Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience)
+ Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft Office Suite
+ Strong knowledge of AP style, excellent verbal/written communication, and critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience in public affairs or corporate communications within DoD/IC
+ Project management experience overseeing communications teams or deliverables
+ Familiarity with systems integration, IT modernization, and Intelligence Community operations
