We seek an Innovation Analyst/Engineer to support our Chief Technology Officer (CTO) in advancing the company's innovation strategy and securing new business opportunities through technical insight, creativity, and disciplined execution.

     

    This role is ideal for a technically competent, entrepreneurial-minded professional who thrives on transforming ideas into practical outcomes for both our clients and Boston Engineering’s own product initiatives. The position requires initiative, strong organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Evaluate new technology, product development, and systems engineering opportunities for both client and internal initiatives.

    + Draft and contribute to technical proposals, reports, and responses to business opportunities (including RFPs, Sources Sought, SBIRs, and other government funding mechanisms).

    + Collaborate with subject matter experts and project managers to gather input, assign responsibilities, and track progress on deliverables.

    + Assist in the preparation, editing, and refinement of written materials; coordinate with technical editors as needed.

    + Organize and lead project status meetings; document meeting notes, establish action items, and ensure accountability on follow-up tasks.

    + Provide regular updates to the CTO and stakeholders on project milestones and task completion.

    + Represent Boston Engineering at business meetings, industry events, and with partners in the fields of robotics, data science (AR, VR, ML, AI), and advanced manufacturing.

    + Support coordination with Manufacturing Innovation Institutes (MIIs), NIST, and Department of Defense (DoD) stakeholders on collaborative efforts.

    + Develop visual materials such as graphics, presentations, videos, and charts to effectively communicate concepts and project plans.

    + Assist in reviewing contracts and program applications to identify deliverables and support the planning of outstanding work.

    + Contribute to the documentation and improvement of organizational processes that drive innovation and operational efficiency.

    + Stay informed of emerging technologies, trends, and best practices relevant to innovation, engineering, and product development.

    Required Skills

    + Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, grammatically sound, and engaging content for diverse audiences.

    + Proven organizational abilities to prioritize tasks, manage multiple initiatives, and follow through on deliverables.

    + Comfortable presenting information to internal teams and external partners.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).

    + Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.

    + Bachelor degree in an engineering/manufacturing-related field or a business degree with technical acumen

    + Three or more years experience required (this can include internship experience)

    + Self-starter with the ability to align technical innovation with business objectives.

    + Experience conceptualizing and developing visual content such as graphics, videos, and storyboards.

    + Familiarity with federal research and development programs and funding mechanisms.

    + Interest or experience in emerging technologies, including robotics, IoT, augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR), and artificial intelligence (AI).

     

    This role is restricted to US persons (i.e., US citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Boston Engineering will require proof of status prior to employment.

     

    Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

     

    Salary range:  $90,000-$110,000 per year. The final salary offer will be based on individual education, skills, and experience.
