Precise Systems seeks a Molecular Biological Research Scientist II to play a key role in the development of affinity reagents for use in sensitive and specific detection assays involving pathogenic organisms and toxic materials.

Duties:

+ Implement your strong foundation in molecular biology techniques, including aptamer discovery and characterization using Systematic Evolution of Ligands by Exponential Enrichment (SELEX) methodologies, PCR, qPCR, qPCR assay development, genomic DNA/RNA extraction, synthetic biology research, detection assay development, and large-scale fermentation

+ Deliver general support for research programs, supporting and maintaining strict sterile technique, and the analysis of experimental data

+ M ake efficient use of scientific literature to troubleshoot technical issues and identify opportunities to improve methodologies

+ Learn new techniques in order to support a wide range of projects, and a demonstrated track record of continued skill acquisition in the workplace is expected.

Required Education:

+ Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or related field

Required Experience:

+ Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a molecular biology laboratory setting.

+ Proven proficiency in PCR, qPCR, genomic DNA/RNA extraction, and sterile technique.

+ Experience handling and analyzing RNA and DNA samples.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

+ Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

+ Ability to work independently with some direction and contribute effectively as part of a team.

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

+ Ability to work both independently and in collaboration with other research teams

+ Ability to assist with other duties as assigned

+ Ability to complete additional training as assigned

Desired Experience:

+ Experience with SELEX methodology.

+ Experience with sequencing and associated data analysis.

+ Familiarity with aptamer technology and its application in detection assays.

+ Experience with microbiological techniques.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $44,819.01 to $67,228.51 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems’ total compensation package.
