Job Details:
The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial reporting and budgeting for Bon Secours Charity Health System and all related subsidiaries (the “System”). This involves extensive knowledge of financial reporting (including Governmental Accounting Standards – GASB) and budgeting for hospitals, nursing homes, physician offices and other related entities.
Responsibilities:
+ Plans, organizes, and coordinates consistent financial and budget policies and procedures.
+ Oversees and assists with the preparation and consolidation of monthly and annual financial reporting.
+ Oversees and assists with the preparation and consolidaton of the annual budget.
+ Provides financial reporting for various projects including bond offerrings, capital lease financing, surveys, grant applications, regulatory agencies etc.
+ Establishes uniform reporting and disseminates financial and budget information to departments throughout the System.
+ Creates and establishes reporting tools for leadership throughout the System, including variance and statistical analysis, KPIs, etc.
+ Develops a uniform FTE reporting structure for both financial reporting and budgeting.
+ Ensures compliance with any debt covenants.
+ Assists with financial planning for future projects, long range budets, departmental analysis, etc.
+ Assists with monthly and annual financial reporting to the Board.
+ Assists with internal and external auditors.
+ Assists in preparing balance sheet, income statement and cash forecasting models.
+ Keeps abreast of current trends in hospital financial management and legislation affecting hospital management.
+ Assists with financial management of grant activity, including any annual OMB audits.
+ Assists with pension plan audit(s)
+ Assists with preperations of annual tax returns.
+ Assists in review of actuarial reports for self-insured malpractice, worker’s compensation, post-retirement benefits, etc.
+ Assists with hiring/training/supervision of staff within the Finance Department.
+ Responsible for mantaing the finance and budget system in conjunction with third party providers.
+ Assists with upgrades/implementation of new technology and systems within the Finance Department and across the System and WMCHealth Network.
+ Other job duties as required.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience where the primary function of the position was in fiscal operations and/or budget management. Previous healthcare related experience preferred.
Education: A Bachelor’s degree required in finance or accounting, Master’s Degree preferred
Licenses / Certifications: CPA preferred.
Other: Thorough knowledge of practices and procedures of hospital and related entities financial reporting and budgeting; ability to organize and direct the work of others; ability to communicate effectively with all levels of health professionals in order to achieve desired objectives; ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing; ability to effectively use computer applications. Complex computer skills required – MS Word, Excel (pivot tables, v-look up, etc.), Powerpoint, Access, Outlook & Power BI. Think-Cell PowerPoint software perferred.
Special Requirements: Experience with Infor, Lawson, Kronos, Cerner EMR and Patient Accounting and/or Strata preferred.
