    Job Purpose

     

    This Master of Public Health (MPH) Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating the administrative operations of the programs within the Master of Public Health (MPH). This role requires close collaboration with the Program Director to ensure the delivery of high-quality student services, efficient organizing of program operations, and ongoing program support for accreditation standards. This position will report to the Director, Family Medicine Administration.

    Essential Functions

    + Coordinate and support accreditation-related activities in alignment with the standards of the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) and other governing bodies. Communicate MPH requirements, plus university and program policies and procedures to applicants, students, faculty, and leaders. Develop, monitor and update program documents. Manage admissions process working with Program Director and Admissions Committee. Make applicant assignments to Admissions Committee members and prepare monthly meeting agenda.

    + Coordinate the administrative operations of the MPH program, including oversight of program-related databases, records, and documentation. Schedule MPH Program courses in university system. Develop/update course schedules each semester. Schedule classrooms, manage SET evaluation process. Monitor expenditures to comply with approved annual budget.

    + Oversee and assist MPH students on matters such as course registration, permission requests, to comply with programmatic and university policies.

    + Coordinate and schedule MPH meetings/events including logistics, technology, and presenters. Ensure materials and other essentials are available and used correctly (video conferencing, audio/visual recordings). Create/maintain MPH program agenda, handouts, and meeting minutes.

    + Coordinate and participate in student recruitment efforts for public health programs, including development and planning in both on- and off-campus events.

    + Oversee and manage student data, initiative progress, progress toward degree standing and enrollment demographics for Director

    + Coordinate with university departments and administrative units to manage degree planning, admissions processes, and program progression.

    + Perform other related duties as assigned by Director.

    Unique duties:

    Qualifications:

    Education Bachelor's degree

     

    Bachelor’s degree. Degree must be conferred at time of application. Candidates with an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

     

    Experience Experienced (minimum 2 years of job-related experience)

     

    Two years of experience in a coordinator or related role, with at least one year of relevant experience with higher education administration.

     

    Experience with university systems (Banner, SLATE and ACCESS), database management, web-development, social media, and creation of promotional material

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    Teamwork and Peer Relationships:Ability to work independently while establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with a wide variety of constituents. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues within the program and other units to gain full understanding of the project and desired outcome

     

    Planning/Project Coordination:Demonstrate the ability to be well-organized and manage multiple assignments with attention to detail and timelines. Ability to collect, monitor, and analyze student information systems data to make recommendations for action

     

    Communication Skills:Express self clearly in oral and written communications and interactions with others. Ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner. Demonstrated experience of high level of diplomacy and professionalism.

     

    Computer Skills:Excellent computer skills and competence with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, online systems, Internet as well as online calendar and email management.

     

    Problem Solving Skills:Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Ability to work collaboratively in group problem solving situations.
