About the Role
At Thermo Fisher Scientific, our Senior Staff IT Architect - Cyber Security - PAM will lead the way in establishing privileged access management (PAM) and hardening standards. As the organizational authority on privileged access standards, you will mentor and lead teams to ensure our practices remain industry-leading and secure.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Architecture & Standards Development
+ Collaborate with management on high-level PAM goals while independently developing and automating recurring standards tasks.
+ Craft and implement strategies for PAM functional areas, focusing on enterprise-wide standards implementation.
+ Architect comprehensive PAM frameworks to elevate secrets management across the organization.
+ Develop organizational standards for privileged access management that scale globally and integrate with existing tools.
SME Leadership & Technical Innovation
+ Own PAM products, workstreams, and processes as the primary SME for privileged access standards.
+ Drive complex PAM projects and team workstreams, ensuring standards implementation.
+ Develop critical metrics to monitor PAM standards performance and identify areas for improvement.
+ Develop leverage points to steer the enterprise towards standard methodologies in privileged access management.
Transformation & Change Leadership
+ Evaluate and challenge initiatives to drive standards excellence.
+ Train and mentor team members on advanced PAM standards.
+ Lead teams on a short-term basis if necessary, maintaining operational excellence.
+ Represent PAM teams in multi-functional projects, advocating for enterprise standards.
Communication & Collaborator Engagement
+ Simplify complex PAM concepts for non-technical audiences.
+ Communicate PAM standards ideas to leadership and multi-functional partners.
+ Develop positive relationships with collaborators across the enterprise.
+ Champion PAM standards adoption through effective communication and influence.
Required Qualifications
Education & Certifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
+ Advanced PAM certifications required: CyberArk Certified Delivery Engineer, BeyondTrust Expert-level certifications, or equivalent.
+ Preferred certifications: TOGAF, SABSA, CISSP, CISM, or similar architecture and security frameworks.
Experience
+ 10+ years of enterprise security experience with a focus on privileged access management.
+ 6+ years of hands-on PAM architecture experience in large-scale environments.
+ Consistent track record of driving enterprise-wide standards adoption.
Technical Architecture & Standards Expertise
+ Expert-level knowledge of PAM principles and secrets management.
+ Advanced proficiency in enterprise PAM platforms with a focus on standards implementation.
+ Deep understanding of compliance requirements related to privileged access and standards frameworks.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $91,700.00–$137,525.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
