Job Description:
We are seeking the best talent for a **Senior Cloud Engineer** to be located in Raritan, NJ.
The Senior Cloud Engineer leads the cloud engineering efforts within Johnson & Johnson's public cloud organization, focusing primarily on Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role involves spearheading cloud account design, implementing security policies, ensuring compliance as code, and optimizing operational efficiency. We seek a passionate individual who excels in developing cloud automations, defining security and compliance frameworks, and implementing solutions that align with application hosting requirements.
Key responsibilities include driving the maturity of AWS services, crafting reference architectures, and ensuring code quality and stability within the AWS environment. The Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with server, database, and application teams alongside AWS specialists and community forums to stay abreast of industry trends. This role also encompasses establishing software development standards for the cloud engineering team.
As a trusted leader within the team, the Senior Cloud Engineer will work closely with external partners, global leaders, and stakeholders to understand and define technology requirements. This role offers a unique opportunity to scale an agile team with the technical expertise needed to innovate and enhance the next generation of products in our portfolio.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong technical background in AWS, public cloud deployments, microservices design, Python-based REST APIs, CI/CD automation, and multi-cloud solutions (including AWS, GCP, Azure, and on-premises infrastructure). The ideal candidate will be an agile team player, skilled in leading and participating on cross-functional teams, and adept at driving consensus among CLOUDx and application teams.
Responsibilities:
+ **Architect and Implement Cloud Solutions** : Design and deploy public cloud infrastructures that meet business needs.
+ **Engineering Support** : Provide ongoing support for existing cloud infrastructures, ensuring robust performance and reliability.
+ **Collaborative Development** : Work with business application owners to gather requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
+ **Architectural Leadership** : Collaborate with technical product owners to inform strategic cloud architecture decisions.
+ **Technical Problem Solving** : Partner with application teams to troubleshoot complex issues spanning infrastructure and application layers.
+ **Cloud Operations Optimization** : Streamline and automate cloud operational processes and deployment practices.
+ **KPI Monitoring** : Track adoption and performance of new features and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.
+ **Security Best Practices** : Ensure that all cloud architectures adhere to industry-standard security protocols.
+ **Industry Awareness** : Keep updated with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies.
+ **Project Management** : Initiate and drive projects aimed at reducing operating expenses and enhancing efficiencies.
+ **Issue Resolution Leadership** : Lead real-time troubleshooting meetings to resolve DevOps challenges and enhance product features.
+ **Agile Processes** : Actively participate in squad ceremonies, streamlining the flow of value using appropriate tools and reporting metrics.
Qualifications
Required:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
+ Minimum of **6 years** of hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure engineering.
+ At least **2 years** of development experience in Python REST APIs.
+ **2+ years** of demonstrated leadership experience (leading a project).
+ Experience with Generative AI solutions.
Preferred:
+ AWS Professional certification is highly preferred
+ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and engagement with diverse audiences.
+ A self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to customer service.
+ Proven thought leadership in modern technology trends, including Agile and DevOps methodologies.
+ A solid product technology background with a deep understanding of platform thinking and experience in delivering global platforms tailored for local markets.
+ Experience in developing applications leveraging Generative AI and/or Agentic AI technologies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :
$115,000 - $197,800.
Additional Description for Pay Transparency:
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance.
