    Compensation: $23.00-25.00 Hourly

     

    Start/End Dates: August 4, 2025 - August 28, 2026

    LOCATION/HOURS

    This is a part-time, fully remote position based out of our New York City office location. It is expected that position duties will be performed remotely. This role is intended to be for an employee living in New York, NY. There is potential to support occasional in-person student events throughout the year.

     

    About SEO & Our History

     

    SEO Scholars, New York City, is the organization’s founding program. Since our inception in 1963, SEO Scholars has been committed to providing public high school students with the resources and guidance necessary to gain admission to, and graduation from, the nation’s most competitive colleges and universities.

     

    We began as a small mentoring program in New York City, and have since evolved into a free, rigorous, eight-year academic program that gets motivated students to and through college - with an 85% college graduation rate. Today, we serve ~1,000 high school students in NYC, and an additional 1,000+ students in colleges around the nation, attending schools in 30 different states.     About College Scholars

     

    SEO Scholars is a free eight-year academic program that successfully educates and mentors students to and through college. In college, we continue to support students through each of their four years, providing one-on-one academic, personal and career exploration support. Our team supports more than 1,000 College Scholars attending ~200 colleges across 31 states, with a 90% college graduation rate.     Position Overview & Responsibilities

     

    The Part Time Career Assistant works with SEO College Scholars to support graduates of NYC and SF public high schools attending colleges across the country by providing year-round career support through individualized meetings and career material reviews. Work schedule is up to 29 hours a week, August 4, 2025, through August 28, 2026. Ideal candidate will choose a consistent schedule meeting 29 hours Monday through Friday within the 10am-6pmEDT time range.

     

    + Design, edit, and update college participant resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles, and written application materials as needed for content and general formatting

    + Provide feedback to program participants on editing and improving written application materials for internships, jobs, and other competitive positions via one-on-one review through video conferencing and email communications

    + Conduct and provide feedback on mock interviews conducted through online platforms such as Zoom

    + Maintain confidentiality of information exposed to during data entry regarding students

    + Utilize Salesforce systems, and additional technology platforms such as Microsoft Excel, Assembly Form, Monday.com among others

    + Occasional evening or weekend work might be offered, dependent on program needs

    + Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    + Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in English, Communication, Journalism, Human Resources, or related field

    + At least 1-2 years of professional experience working with college students; 1-2 years professional editing experience preferred

    + Experience in maintaining accurate records and tracking projects with multiple tasks and phases

    + Highly detail-oriented and organized approach to tasks while able to meet competing deadlines

    + Exceptional communication skills: verbal, written, interpersonal (phone and in-person)

    + Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Drive

    + Must be data driven, familiarity with Salesforce a plus

    + Excellent interpersonal skills, strong work ethic, and high level of professionalism

    COMPENSATION

    The compensation listed in this posting reflects what SEO believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and SEO reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time.
