Are you passionate about nursing education and ready to make a lasting impact? UPMC St. Margaret is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Nursing Instructor to join our School of Nursing team. This full-time position follows a rotating shift schedule, including day shifts (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM / 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) and evening shifts (1:00 PM – 9:30 PM), offering flexibility and variety in your workday.

Key Responsibilities:
+ Deliver engaging classroom and clinical instruction using evidence-based teaching strategies.
+ Foster critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional growth in nursing students.
+ Support diverse learners through individualized coaching and inclusive teaching practices.
+ Maintain current clinical and educational knowledge through ongoing professional development.
+ Guide students in applying the nursing process in both academic and clinical settings.
+ Design and evaluate meaningful learning experiences and assignments.
+ Promote a respectful, culturally competent, and collaborative learning environment.
+ Participate in curriculum development, school committees, and policy initiatives.
+ Contribute to quality improvement and scholarly activities within the school.
+ Serve as a professional role model, upholding the values of trust, respect, and excellence.
+ MSN required 3 years of clinical practice
+ Precepting experience required; clinical teaching experience in prelicensure program preferred
+ Previous teaching experience preferred. Certified Nurse Educator certification preferred.
+ Appointment to this position and retention of this position is contingent upon the approval of the PA State Board of Nursing. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse. UPMC approved certification, preferred. CPR Certification for BLS for Health Care Providers. Have Act 33, 34 and 73 (FBI) clearances. Appointment to this position and retention of this position is contingent upon the approval of the PA State Board of Nursing. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
+ Registered Nurse (RN)
+ Act 33 with renewal
+ Act 34 with renewal
+ Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
*Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
