The opportunity

Delaware North Gaming is hiring for a full-time Greyhound Racing Attendant to join our team at Wheeling Island Casino in Wheeling, West Virginia. As a Greyhound Racing Attendant, you will be responsible for the overall care and treatment of the greyhounds on race days.

Pay

$13.75 - $13.75 / hour

What will you do?

+ Conduct inspections of the greyhound mechanical lure and rail system to ensure an efficient operation for every race.

+ Log and ensure the rail and lure rig is safe and operational before each race; report any damage or non-working equipment.

+ Ensure the greyhounds are wearing the appropriate muzzles before leaving the paddock for races.

+ Be responsible for the respectful treatment of all greyhounds in their care at the property.

+ All other duties assigned.

More about you

+ Minimum of 6 months experience as a Greyhound Dog Walker, Leadout, Handler, or similar experience required.

+ Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate state gaming license.

+ Ability to problem solve and operate in a fast-paced environment.

+ Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

+ No high school diploma or GED required.

Physical requirements

+ Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.

+ Constant standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive motions.

+ Ability to remain standing for entire length of shift.
