Job Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and direction for the Parking Enforcement Officers and students. This includes:
+ Recruiting, coaching, mentoring, and fostering teamwork and engagement of staff.
+ Ensuring adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
+ Delegating work to staff and managing their workload, ensuring they are kept up-to-date on changes that impact their daily work.
+ Scheduling staff to cover the RIT Welcome Center and parking enforcement in the field.
+ Carrying out staff appraisals, performance counseling, and corrective action as needed
Manage the day-to-day parking operations on RIT campus. This includes:
+ Oversee management of the customer service. Serves as a liaison with staff, faculty, and students. Acts as the front line person for communicating and enforcing policy. Investigates situations and complaints and implements solutions. Works with individuals to resolve disputes/problems.
+ Participates in a variety of meetings, committees, and/or other related campus groups to communicate information regarding services and/or other pertinent information.
+ Handles scofflaw violators & oversees booting/towing of vehicles. Runs license plate checks through NY DMV.
+ Revise, develop and implement policies and standard protocols for the departmental regulations.
+ Assist Director, PATS in planning, conducting, and evaluating audits on parking counts, utilization, transaction and revenue data through regular field audits of parking facilities and parking revenue collection. Establish and maintain standards for all services with benchmarking against peer institutions.
+ Provide backup for Parking Systems & Database Administrator on the T2 Systems parking software.
Oversee management of special events to include scheduling of parking needs for special events as well as construction and other causes for displacement of parking; implementation of controls to minimize the occurrence of parking in unauthorized locations; provision of vehicular and pedestrian traffic control during special events and in high traffic areas on campus during peak hours; the oversight and coordination, installation, and maintenance of traffic, directional, and in formational signs on campus grounds; and ensuring the proper marking of assigned lots.

Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree, plus 2 years of Parking and Transportation, Business Administration, or Facilities Management or comparable professional experience.
If no degree, then 5 years of Parking and Transportation, Business Administration, or Facilities Management or comparable professional experience.
Skills:
+ Must also have experience managing people or leading teams
+ Must have experience leading a team
+ High level of verbal and written communication and conflict resolution skills
+ Create and support an environment that focuses on coaching and development of staff; additionally
+ Must have mediation skills to lead strategic discussions for mutually beneficial outcomes for all stakeholders
+ Ability to understand multiple points of views, demonstrate customer service and inspire collaboration
NOTE: The successful candidate hired for this position will be required to drive on occasion, and therefore will be required, upon hire, to immediately enroll in the NYS LENS program.

The Parking Enforcement Operations Manager is responsible for cultivating a professional, diverse, and customer-focused team. This position delivers an efficient parking operation for parking related activities, including RIT hosted events; provides leadership and direction to the Parking Enforcement Officers and student employees; coordinates, implements, administers, and evaluates the operation and workflow of the parking enforcement activities to maintain consistent levels of service to internal and external clients; and participates in the recommendation and administration of operational policies, procedures, and processes.
