Job Responsibilities:
Content Marketing
+ Manages and executes content marketing deliverables to cover topics aligned with RIT and Saunders’ strategy. Content management includes executing content creation calendar covering an optimal mix of marketing outlets, including onsite displays, internal and external websites, social media posts and influencers, email distribution, print and outdoor advertising.
+ Proactively seeks to maintain accurate, up-to-date content while striving to improve the marketing reach and effectiveness. Identifies newsworthy stories and other opportunities of interest to Saunders audiences to raise awareness for the college, its faculty and students; and maintains a calendar of future opportunities. Provides direction and edits to designers for the graphic layout of department materials including the preparation of specifications for printing projects.
+ Analyzes digital reports including Google Analytics, social media, and email distribution reports for presentations and pulls out key findings to help make decisions for improving effectiveness of content marketing plans. Utilizes campaign tracking tools such as UTM tags to track marketing attribution of campaigns
+ Consults with faculty, staff and other RIT constituents to establish content partners for website, plus department and program materials. Implements a regular audit schedule ensuring content for all materials are audited on a regular schedule.
Communications Research and Writing
+ Creates written copy for department materials including print and electronic publications, social media, news stories, blog posts, newsletters, news briefs, event listings, and advertising. Creative writing must consistently incorporate highlights from up-to-date strategic messages of Saunders. Includes drafting original copy, both routine and non-routine, and rewriting outdated text. Repurposes text to distribute in multiple formats. May work with freelance writers and copywriters to meet department objectives.
+ Responsible for research, including gathering and fact checking information to prepare accurate written copy while meeting deadlines. Provides copywriting, editing and proofreading of department materials as they are prepared for publication. Research includes identifying publication and distribution issues and opportunities.
+ Writing and research requires contact with and liaison with multiple constituencies, including RIT and Saunders faculty and staff; and outside vendors including agencies, designers, photographers, digital media specialists, printers, list brokers, mail houses and post offices. Also, supports the communication of business school ranking results.
Digital Media Management
+ Serves as primary content webmaster for rit.edu/business, applying metrics driven, goals- orientated planning. Manages look and feel, navigational architecture, and content to optimize SEO and SEM results. Uses Content Management System and graphic programs to perform all web edits supporting communication and marketing goals. Conceptualizes design, creates new pages and revises pages without need for approval which includes creation of text, pages layout and graphics. Needs to be able to edit graphics for optimal website performance. Publishes edits directly to website without need for approval. Works with Saunders Technical Support, RIT Web Services, and ITS to address programming needs.
+ Develops and maintains a sustainable social media presence for Saunders with consistent branding across sites. Manages optimal mix of social media sites to maintain coverage on each. Establishes proper balance between reactive and proactive approaches that optimize reach and relevance to Saunders mission. Creates social media plans with clear objectives and metrics to track performance. Actively utilizes social media listening tools and seeks to engage influencers.
+ Coordinates content on non-Saunders websites. Maintains catalog of external websites that reference Saunders web pages or contain Saunders information, and coordinates to ensure their information is accurate and up to date. Researches and suggest website partners that can provide new sources of traffic.

+ Supports college recruitment and promotional events as needed. May include some nights and weekend events.
+ Any and all other duties that may arise.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, English, Journalism, etc.
+ Minimum 1-3 years of related experience
+ Willingness to travel to off-campus events and some evening and weekend work may be required.
Skills:
+ Requires strong writing and communication skills, especially with grammar and spelling.
+ Must be comfortable working with digital media including website management, social media, and email distribution.
+ Previous experience designing or managing websites. Basic knowledge of HTML and ability to resize photo and graphic files for web use is needed.
+ Requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented and goal-driven environment.
+ Experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of office administration, organization, coordination, facilitation, bookkeeping and/or report writing.
+ Requires proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Preferred proficiency in digital design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Acrobat, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver.
+ Experience with Google Analytics and Social Media metrics preferred.

THE DEPARTMENT: The Saunders Marketing and Communications Department is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies, managing communications, and promoting events. In addition to the Director and Marketing Specialist, the team of four includes the Events & Promotions Manager and Senior Marketing & Promotions Coordinator.

Includes research and writing both original text and redrafting existing text for department deliverables.
