    Custom Job Purpose:

    This position exists to perform advanced and responsible technical work in the Office of Charter Schools as related to the reporting and monitoring of student enrollment. Effective communication and personal relationship skills to promote good will with the public and school personnel. Coordinates and refines technological and monitoring systems for the charter schools. Supervises reporting and technical data collection processes for conversion and start up charters within the district.

     

    Essential Functions of this Job

     

    Establishes working relationships with the schools' staff, district office staff and provides the public with requested information. Coordinates and confers with all other departments to develop programs to facilitate an effective and efficient monitoring system for charter schools and student enrollment process. Maintains systems and creates reports to reflect current information. Works with application and monitoring systems for timely and accurate reports and compliance notification.

     

    Complies and tracks charter appeal processes, charter renewals, legal documentation and amendments. Works with finance to track charter school and new choice school budgets and expenditures. Reviews and coordinates monthly and quarterly financial monitoring of start-up charter school grants, second year and dissemination grants for charter schools between the finance office and charter schools.

    Performs other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    Considerable knowledge of the computerized application process and tracking software. Ability to comprehend, analyze and scrutinize complicated procedures and systems and make recommendations for revising and updating systems. Ability to deal with the public and communicate effectively. Bilingual/biliterate preferred.

     

    Education, Experience and/or Certification/License Requirements

     

    Bachelor's degree or a minimum of 3 years equivalent technical experience including computer experience.

    Work Context:

    Requires some sitting and standing, walking and moving about to coordinate work. Requires the use of alternative communication systems, such as electronic mail, telephones and computers. Requires coordination of work tasks to establish priorities, set goals and meet deadlines. Requires face-to-face discussions and contact with individuals and/or teams. Requires work with students, internal and external contacts, and with the public.

    Physical Environment:

    Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions. Requires sitting for the majority of the day, and the ability to lift, carry, move and/or position objects infrequently weighing up to 20 pounds.
