    What We Need:

    Brady Corp is seeking a Chemist II who will be an influential and visible member of the Materials R&D department with responsibility for providing hands-on research, technical knowledge, and leadership to develop new products through commercial launch, and support existing products within the Global Identification Solutions business (BradyID.com). Technical areas of focus will be in inks for digital print, print-receptive coatings, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and flexible substrates for roll-to-roll coating operations.

    What You'll Be Doing:

    + Lead hands-on research projects that deliver business results.

    + Perform as the Technical Lead on various project activities through a defined Stage Gate process.

    + Work well within cross-functional teams to enable new product development project success.

    + Work with operations to support new materials, quality concerns, and process improvements.

    + Work with site manufacturing and test engineers to complete product qualifications.

    + Understand how to follow existing test methods (ASTM), and how to develop new test methods.

    + Understand process capability and variability, design selection criteria, structure-property relationships, iterative problem solving, risk management, and intellectual property fundamentals.

    + Effectively communicate the right data to the right decision makes at the right time.

    + Properly document technical and experimental activities.

    What You Will Need To Be Successful:

    + Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related disciplines.

    + 3 – 5 years of chemistry experience in manufacturing (time spent towards a graduate degree can count).

    + Track record of delivering on projects by working with cross-functional teams.

    + Familiarity with a Stage / Gate development process.

    + Authorized to work in the United States.
