    **PDS Tech Commercial** , a **Military Friendly® Employer** , is seeking a highly experienced and adaptable **Senior** **Advanced** **Mechanical Engineer** to support complex material handling projects across the U.S. This is a dynamic, travel-intensive role ideal for engineers who thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy solving real-world challenges on-site.

     

    About the Role

     

    As a **Senior Advanced** **Mechanical Engineer** , you will support engineering teams in preparing mechanical layouts, selecting equipment, defining BOMs, and configuring product models. You’ll also play a key role in on-site commissioning, ensuring proper equipment distribution and process flow. This role requires strong technical expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage multiple project elements simultaneously.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Prepare mechanical engineering drawings and layouts using CAD tools (2D/3D).

    + Select equipment and define configurations for material handling systems.

    + Support on-site commissioning, ensuring proper equipment distribution and flow.

    + Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, etc.) to develop integrated solutions.

    + Participate in project planning, cost estimation, and risk assessments.

    + Ensure compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.

    + Provide technical support to internal and external customers throughout the project lifecycle.

    + Travel to client sites across the U.S. approximately 70% of the time.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

    + 8+ years of industrial experience in mechanical engineering.

    + Proficiency in CAD software (2D/3D) and layout development.

    + Strong understanding of material handling systems and equipment.

    + Ability to manage scope, budget, and schedule across multiple projects.

    + Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

    + Must be able to travel extensively.

    Preferred:

    + Experience with Fieldglass timekeeping and expense reporting.

    + Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

    + Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to field conditions.
