Customer Logistics CORE (backfill)- LTA – Manchester, PA

PURPOSE

Long-Term CORE backfill assignment – Manchester, PA. This CORE backfill assignment is a 12-month (or longer) commitment, with opportunities at multiple global Bayer locations—including international assignments. This particular role will be based at the Whippany, NJ facility, with additional openings worldwide depending on business needs.

The primary responsibility of this role includes managing day-to-day warehousing and logistics operations, supporting the team during CORE project. The candidate will work closely with the Pharma Distribution and Logistics (D&L) team and outside partners to ensure timely and cost-efficient movement of products to Pharmaceutical customers and patients.

Candidate will utilize a Transportation Management System (TMS) to optimize, plan and route orders into shipments and utilize / create TMS reports to measure KPIs and carrier performance.

Utilize Continuous Improvement methodologies to improve order cycle / on time compliance, inaccurate freight billing, over short and damaged (OS&D) issues.

Monitor Compliance and Exceptions Handling support in line with DSCSA requirements for the US.

Communicate, drive change, act with authority, make decisions, and interface with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Additionally, the candidate may be required to support other SCM functions in the US and/or other global/regional initiatives related to D&L activities. Relocation may be possible for the right candidate.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Plan, route, and schedule orders into shipments;

+ Overcome obstacles preventing traditional routing. Identify and escalate issues with routing guides and make recommendations for improvement;

+ Operate with the customer in mind, balancing cost and service to meet business and patient needs;

+ Establish and maintain excellent relationships with counterparts in third party providers and customer teams;

+ Match freight bills to contracted rates. Collect data and assist in analysis to support transportation provider decisions;

+ Execute certain monthly reporting for Pharma Distribution and Logistics activities;

+ Additional responsibilities may be required for activities outside of warehousing and distribution domain. Those will be discussed and agreed with the candidate as and when the need arises.

WHO YOU ARE

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

REQUIRED QUALFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s degree;

+ Must have good communication skills and be able to communicate well with 3rd party operations and upper management;

+ Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to ever changing requirements;

+ Ability to make decisions quickly – with information provided;

+ The incumbent must have strong computer skills, including Excel, ERP, and Transportation Management Systems (TMS);

+ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively across boundaries and meet shared objectives.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s + 5 years / Master’s degree + 3 years of experience in Transportation, Distribution, Logistics, Product Supply, Customer Service, or related field;

+ Experience in Pharmaceutical, Consumer, or regulated industry;

+ Advanced understanding of Transportation Law and Rating models.
