Summary
The Assistant Director – Warehouse Operations leads an Audio-Visual warehouse team and is responsible for all operations of a warehouse. This role drives innovation and operational excellence while ensuring cost-effective warehouse management. The Assistant Director leads a high-performing team, optimizing AV quality control, logistics and inventory management to support business success. This position requires very strong people leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Dallas, TX.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
+ Lead and oversee full-time, part-time, and contingent warehouse staff, including scheduling, payroll, performance appraisals, safety compliance, expense reporting, and operational policies.
+ Manage financial performance of warehouse operations, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation and profitability.
+ Oversee facility and equipment readiness to support seamless business operations.
+ Streamline warehouse practices to improve efficiency and reduce operational complexity.
+ Collaborate with Growth and AV Operations teams to align warehouse capabilities with go-to-market strategies.
+ Identify, evaluate, and implement innovative warehouse tools, processes, and best practices.
+ Partner with HR and operations teams to recruit, train, and develop warehouse staff.
+ Ensure strict compliance with safety, risk management, and regulatory policies.
+ Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), conduct quality audits, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Act as a key stakeholder in inventory control, technology implementation, purchasing, and capital expenditure planning.
+ Manage vendor relationships and oversee facility maintenance and operational needs.
+ Foster collaboration and communication across warehouse teams to enhance operational efficiency.
+ Support cross-functional teams and leadership as needed.
+ Perform additional duties as assigned.
+ Lead, mentor and develop a high performing team of individuals. This includes hiring, training, performing disciplinary action, record keeping, and other supervisory duties as outlined above.
Education & Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.
+ Minimum 10 years of related experience within event production and/or warehouse management.
+ Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
+ Demonstrate strong leadership skills and strategic thinking with the ability to flourish in a matrix organization.
+ Proven ability to lead with vision, strategic thinking and hands on experience.
+ Ability to influence and inspire action with a focus on driving business results
+ Must be an innovative problem solver with the ability to deal quickly and effectively with issues.
+ Demonstrated experience in working with cross-functional teams and large programs.
+ Must be able to demonstrate a high level of intelligence, independent reasoning, excellent analytical skills and judgment with a strong business acumen.
+ Strong analytical, organizational, collaborative, and critical thinking skills required.
+ Must be comfortable independently evaluating a situation, exercising judgment, and then independently making a decision.
+ Meticulous attention to detail as well as superior organizational and creative thinking skills.
+ Must have experience juggling multiple clients with competing demands.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with numerous business teams.
+ Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, customers, or regulatory agencies.
+ Ability to relate and conduct theoretical discussions as applicable to specific technical topics.
+ Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with customers at all levels.
+ Proven ability to communicate a technical message to a non-technical audience.
+ Proven ability to adapt while managing multiple competing priorities.
