    Job Summary:

    Provide technical support involving the set-up, testing and operational instruction of production, post-production and classroom technology equipment within the production and instructional facilities of the Roy H. Park School of Communications. Provide initial diagnostic evaluation of existing technologies. Maintain repair and inventory records and carry out maintenance procedures. Participate in the safety protocol approval process for film/video locations.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Operational & Technical Support: Deliver hands-on assistance to faculty and students in the operation of classroom and studio technology, ensuring effective use of all multimedia and computing resources.

    + Production and Post-production Equipment Demonstration: Instruct and demonstrate the correct use of production and post-production equipment, ensuring best practices and safe handling procedures are followed.

    + Software Access & Instruction: Provide guidance and training on accessing and navigating various software applications essential for classroom and studio productivity.

    + Equipment Setup & Installation: Set up, install, test, and wire audiovisual (AV) and studio equipment, ensuring functionality and reliability across classroom and production environments.

    + Preventative Maintenance: Execute an on-site maintenance schedule, including periodic hardware and software upgrades to ensure optimal performance of classroom and studio equipment.

    + Systems Knowledge Development: Cultivate knowledge of media production, workstation hardware, peripheral devices, and a working understanding of Ithaca College’s computing systems, software products, and network environments.

    + Safety: Ensure the safe operation and use of production and post-production equipment by students.

    + Location Approvals: Participate in the review and approval process of on- and off-campus requests for film/video locations to ensure safety protocols are addressed.

    + Production and Post-production Equipment Proficiency: Acquire and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all relevant technologies and tools.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications:

    Formal training beyond high school and previous experience working with production and post-production technology and computer systems hardware and software or the equivalent combination of education and experience, good organizational, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, ability to test, install, demonstrate, and maintain production and post-production technology and computer equipment is required. An associate degree in electronics or information technology is preferred.

     

    This position is 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

    Hiring Rate:

    $25.50 per hour.
