• (Seasonal) Park Maintenance Worker

    Huron-Clinton Metroparks (Milford, MI)


    PAY RATE: $13.05 - $14.10 per hour (Up to 600 hours per year or 120 days per season).

     

    Eligible part-time employees will receive up to a $5.75 per hour retention bonus for all hours worked from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Additionally, eligible seasonal employees will receive a $0.60 per hour seasonal bonus for all hours worked. Click here (https://www.metroparks.com/job-opportunities/#MORETHANAJOB)  for details.

     

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Work activities in this position primarily involve the maintenance of park grounds.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES: The list below is intended to describe the general nature of duties only. Employee shall perform other duties as assigned.

     

    + Performs grounds maintenance around the picnic areas.

    + Empties trash barrels.

    + Picks up litter using a prod or by hand.

    + Mowing, string trimming

    + Maintains and weeds flower beds.

    + Restroom cleaning and maintenance.

    + Snow clearing and winter maintenance.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Ability to load, unload and move materials between work locations.

    + Ability to traverse sandy, marshy or wooded areas with even or uneven terrain.

    + Ability to work in all weather conditions.

    + Ability to work varied hours depending upon park demands.

    + Ability to get along with co-workers, supervisors, and park visitors.

    + May be required to adjust schedule to meet organizational needs, including special events, evenings, weekends & holidays.

    + Ability to perform essential duties.

    GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
