    JOB TITLE: Administrative Assistant/Data Specialist** **REPORTS TO: Pamela F. Williams

    DEPARTMENT: TRIO

    EXEMPT:

    VICE** **PRESIDENT:** **Vice President of Career and Technical Education, Sponsored Grants, and HBCU Initiatives

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF THE** **FUNCTION

    QUALIFICATIONS** **REQUIREMENTS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     EDUCATION AND/OR** **EXPERIENCE

    An Associate’s degree is required, but a Bachelor’s degree is desired in Business or a related area with three years of secretarial or office management experience

     

    **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** , include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

     

    At least 3-5 years of experience in office management; Must have experience with spreadsheets, budgets, and reports; Skills and training in purchasing; Experience with data collection and maintaining files and records; Excellent oral and communication skills; Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, taking initiative as needs arise; Must be highly motivated, detail-oriented, resourceful, organized, and efficient; Must have the ability to lead and manage others; Ability to track, report and analyze data; Work independently and have the ability to work collaboratively with other areas within the college. Assist with input of student and staff data for reporting requirements; Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites, Outlook, Workday, and Canvas. Knowledge of US Department of Education regulations on TRIO Projects. Perform any other related duties as assigned. **Knowledge of and familiarity with at-risk ethnic minority groups and low-income persons are mandatory.**

     

    Maintain knowledge of diversity-related issues, legislation, and best practices.

    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, and the employee is occasionally required to perform job responsibilities in the outdoors and off site.
