Purchasing Expeditor

Position Summary: The Purchasing Expeditor will work within the Purchasing department as a member of the Procurement team and will report to the Purchasing Manager and Supply Chain Manager. The Purchasing Expeditor will perform expediting activities from the project site, includes managing JIT delivery, warehousing, with occasional visits to vendor locations. They will incorporate all information into Procurement online system. This position will be fully on site near Boise, ID.
Essential Responsibilities:
+ Manages the requirements of the Purchase Orders assigned by the Supply Chain manager placed on behalf of the Owner which includes, weekly updates from all vendors to track submittals, production timing, shipping information, etc.
+ Maintains information from various equipment and material vendors regarding fabrication and shipments.
+ Advise of any impacts affecting fabrication and/or shipments.
+ Act as central clearing house for shipment arrivals and contact responsible delivery contacts.
+ Gather and maintain relevant and accurate data for ongoing and historical equipment information records.
+ Presents this information in oral and written form to the various project team members, obtaining all necessary shop fabrication reports, manpower schedules, and other necessary supporting documentation.
+ Transmits and receives information and documentation to and from the other members of the various Workgroups. Copies Site Manager, Materials and Contracts on all field reports.
+ Transmits all Expediting information to various Workgroups for their update. Reports to Site Manager, Materials and Contracts.
Qualifications:
Professional Experience and Education
+ High School Diploma or GED required
Required Skills
+ Proficient ability to coordinate and communicate with project and construction management teams, engineering departments, suppliers, and vendors to ensure that equipment items are produced according to schedule.
+ Detailed understanding of fabrication shop procedures, scheduling and routing is required.
+ Familiarity with transportation practices is desirable to maintain transportation and delivery schedules.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
+ Standing/Walking/Sitting: workday is combination of standing, walking and sitting.
+ Must be able to climb stairs: 5% of day.
+ Hands/Arms: constant use of hands/fingers for mouse/keyboard/computer use.
+ Sight: visual acuity in near, mid, and far range vision. Color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, hand/eye coordination.
+ Hearing: sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone.
+ Speech: sufficient to make oneself heard in person, speak in front of groups, and be understood over the telephone.
+ Lift/Carry: Up to 20lbs. Computer/drawings - minimal .
+ Bending/Twisting: minimal.
+ Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: minimal.
+ Constant mental alertness, accuracy, and attention to detail required.
+ Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on all assignments.
+ Must use creativity, independent judgment, and organizational and problem-solving skills to determine best method to accomplish desired results.
+ Must be able to plan and organize work.
