Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

NBCU Boston (NBC 10 Boston, NBC Sports Boston, NECN & Telemundo Nueva Inglaterra) is seeking a Social Media Intern. The Social Media Intern will support station marketing strategies and initiatives across various digital platforms, including social media and YouTube.

Responsibilities

• Assist in story selection and editing of social videos for NBC10 accounts

• Collaborate with the Programming Department on social content for the Hub Today and community initiatives

• Create daily YouTube thumbnails

• Attend on-site events to capture photos and videos for social content

• Brainstorm ideas to engage with followers and elevate marketing messages on all platforms

Basic Qualifications:

+ You must be in pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor, or Graduate degree at an accredited institution

+ Current class standing of sophomore or above

+ Must be willing to submit to a background investigation

+ Must be 18 years or greater

+ Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in United States without visa sponsorship by NBCU

+ Must be willing to work in Needham, MA

Desired Qualifications:

+ Experience in video editing with Adobe Premiere and design with Adobe Photoshop

+ Good communication skills

+ Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, high-pressure environment

+ Knowledge of social trends, sports and entertainment

+ Ability to work non-traditional hours, weekends & holidays
