Position: Sterile INSTR Team Lead

Department: Central Sterile Processing

Shift: 3PM-11:30PM/ Weekend & Holidays

Status: Full-time/ 80 hours per pay period

Facility: Miami Valley Hospital

The Sterile Processing Team Lead is responsible for the decontamination, inspection, maintenance, assembly, packaging, sterilization and distribution of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies to nursing departments. The Sterile Processing Team Lead must show knowledge of operation, and proper handling, of all complex equipment within the department and show knowledge of general instrumentation. The Sterile Processing Team Lead must be able to receive instruction, and proficiently utilize information under a high level of pressure to perform and appropriately prioritize daily tasks. The Sterile Processing Team Lead will assist the Instrument Tech with more difficult tasks as needed. The Sterile Processing Team Lead may serve as a primary preceptor and be assigned to applicable tasks associated with precepting. The Sterile Processing Team Lead must possess basic computer skills and maintain a professional image and behavior toward patients, visitors, physicians and other employees to create a positive impression consistent with professional etiquette. The Sterile Processing Team Lead will adhere to the Premier Health Core Values and the Standards of Behavior as well as maintain an active certification.

Education

**Minimum Level of Education Required:** High School completion / GED

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Actively maintain certification through IASCHAMM or CBSPD is required

Experience

**Minimum Level of Experience Required:** No prior job-related work experience

**Preferred** **experience:** Two-year Sterile Processing experience preferred

Knowledge/Skills

+ Knowledge of the hospital setting, infection control and medical terminology is highly desired.

+ Computer skills, with SPM bar scanning and previous instrument tracking experience are preferred
