Job Overview
Fairview Health is looking for a Manager Pharmacy-Ambulatory: Manager of Specialty Programs with oversight of therapy management, diabetes care services, and patient financial advocate teams.
The Pharmacy Manager has accountability for leading high-functioning pharmacy teams and supervising daily pharmacy services in their designated area(s). This includes, but is not limited to, regulatory compliance, pharmaceutical care services, drug information, drug distribution, medication safety, process improvement, financial and inventory optimization initiatives, clinical service support, and education/development of staff, students or residents.
Responsibilities
+ Collaboration with multiple external departments across the health system
+ Heavily involved in the creation, maintenance, and evaluation of operational and/or clinical data for both internal use as well as demonstrating value to external partners
+ Participates in and contributes to meetings with pharmaceutical and payer partners
+ Preparation, review and analysis of pertinent data
+ Development of presentation content
+ Participates in and contributes to meetings with vendors
+ Acts as SME for the department
+ Plays a key role in the decision-making process
+ Oversight of 2+ employee teams (Different pharmacist teams, technician teams, buyers, etc.).
+ Oversight of 8+ employees (head count, not FTE)
+ Continuously improves work processes to serve customers and meet business goals. Ensures high quality pharmacy and medication management services.
+ Manages all appropriate pharmacy processes and systems to ensure excellent patient care and timely and accurate delivery of medication services.
+ Prepares and/or dispenses medications and compounded sterile products using good technique and safe practices, as appropriate to the role.
+ Assures that medication storage areas and the medication use process meets all regulatory requirements in the assigned area(s), including, but not limited to, Board of Pharmacy, TJC, CMS, MN Department of Health, DEA.
+ Manages staffing levels and drug expenditures or other expenses to meet departmental budget parameters
+ Ensures that appropriate medication safety programs are in place to ensure the safest possible drug therapies.
+ Develops and maintains programs designed to improve the skills of pharmacists, technicians, or trainees.
+ Ensures that all relevant policies and procedures are followed.
+ Understands and accepts the challenge of fiscal management. Fully comprehends the financial challenges in healthcare and is an effective steward of limited resources.
+ Demonstrates ongoing fiscal responsiveness within and outside area of responsibility.
+ Involves staff and stakeholders in financial management strategies.
+ Serves as a resource to pharmacy staff members and encourages their development through coaching and mentoring.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy Degree
+ 2 years or more years of pharmacy experience
+ Pharmacist MN Board of Pharm Licensure as a Registered Pharmacist in Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications
+ Successful completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
+ 1 year or more years of pharmacy leadership experience

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
