As an Automation Pharmacy Technician, you will provide assistance and pharmacy technician knowledge while acting as a liaison between Nurse Managers and the pharmacy department concerning the automated dispensing units (Pyxis).
Caregivers in this role will work Monday through Friday from 6:00am to 3:00pm, with an additional time of 2:00pm to 10:30pm. Rotating shifts every 2 weeks.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Maintain automated dispensing systems and address questions or concerns regarding the system.
+ Routinely troubleshoot pharmacy automation equipment, drawer failures, medication jams, fail counts, etc.
+ Assist with coordinating the expansion of Pyxis units across all inpatient nursing units, procedure areas, OR suites and hospital outpatient areas
+ Provide on-call coverage for urgent issues.
Minimum Qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ High school diploma or GED
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) verified through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
+ Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy. Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 6 months.
Preferred Qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program
+ Three years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
