Required Skills:

Network Engineer Responsibilities:

1. Architect, design, engineer and implement scalable physical and logical datacenter infrastructure solutions.

2. Build systems and workflows to automate the delivery of new datacenter networks.

3. Develop network automation to mitigate and remediate network events, hardware failures, software failures in languages such as Python.

4. Analyze network data to diagnose and identify root causes of network issues.

5. Be an active participant in deep technical discussions on how to improve the reliability and efficiency of Meta’s networks.

6. Collaborate with partner teams in Backbone, Network Infrastructure Engineering, and Network Systems to support a large-scale global network.

7. Operate large scale implementations of routing protocols such as BGP and Open/R in production.

8. Install and run binaries, modify, deploy configuration files, and monitor overall network health.

9. Participate in technical decisions to improve the network.

10. Collaborate with partner software teams to create and improve network monitoring, and configuration generation at scale.

11. Document technical designs, deployment workflows, and operational processes for the network.

12. Work on performance measurement to ensure improved efficiency and reliability of the network.

Minimum Qualifications:

13. Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Analytics, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, or a related field

14. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

15. 1. Developing applications using at least one of the following: Python, Perl, Go, C++, or Bash

16. 2. CI/CD pipelines and source control applications

17. 3. Developing and understanding network device configuration for at least one vendor: Arista, Juniper, Cisco, Brocade, Ciena, Infinera, or Linux

18. 4. Understanding and mitigating network hardware and topology failures

19. 5. Developing tools and dashboards that improve the planning and operations of DC network

20. 6. Network routing protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, or IS-IS

21. 7. MPLS and RSVP-TE

22. 8. IPv6

Public Compensation:

$221,420/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
