Overview
Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. is the largest independent, locally owned and operated Emergency Medical Service provider in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana, Michigan and Ohio. Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional duties in support of the Risk and Safety Department including reviewing, examining, investigating, and analyzing Auto, Professional and General Liability and Property claims. We are looking for a detail-oriented claims processor to join our Risk and Safety team. You will be responsible for preparing claim forms, verifying information, and corresponding with agents and third-party administrators. You will also handle client inquiries, review policies, determine coverage, calculate claim amounts, and process payments.
To be successful as a claim’s processor, you should have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. You should also be able to work under pressure and perform a range of clerical functions with great attention to detail.
Responsibilities
+ Communicating with insurance agents and TPAs.
+ Preparing claim forms and related documentation.
+ Reviewing claim submissions and verifying the information.
+ Recording and maintaining insurance policy and claims information in a database system.
+ Determining policy coverage and calculating claim amounts.
+ Processing claim payments.
+ Complying with federal, state, and company regulations and policies.
+ Performing other clerical tasks, as required.
+ Order crash reports
+ Address citations
Qualifications
+ At least 2 years of experience as a claim’s processor or in a related role.
+ Working knowledge of the insurance industry and relevant federal and state regulations.
+ Computer literate and proficient in MS Office.
+ Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills.
+ Good administrative and organizational skills.
+ Strong customer service skills.
+ Ability to work under pressure.
+ High attention to detail.
+ Provide timely processing and adjudication of claims.
+ Prepare documents and other paperwork relating to claims.
+ Take responsibility of payment of all claims in compliance with rules.
+ Respond to inquiries and resolve pertaining to specific claim issues.
+ Maintain working relationships with departments processing claims.
+ Handle claims involving loss due to fire, lightning and theft.
+ Assist staff in processing complicated claims.
+ Handle educational reimbursement, leave policy and other staff benefits.
+ Bring to notice special policy matters to the attention of the management.
+ Enter claims information into database systems.
+ Enter information into databases or software programs.
+ Prepare insurance claim forms or related documents and review them for completeness.
+ Check data for recording errors.
+ Prepare documentation for contracts, transactions, or regulatory compliance.
+ Pay small claims.
+ Execute sales or other financial transactions.
+ Calculate amount of claim.
+ Calculate costs of goods or services.
+ Post or attach information to claim file.
+ Compile data or documentation.
+ Transmit claims for payment or further investigation.
+ Send information, materials, or documentation.
+ Contact insured or other involved persons to obtain missing information.
+ Discuss account status or activity with customers or patrons.
+ Review insurance policy to determine coverage.
+ Review customer insurance information.
+ Enter information into databases or software programs.
+ Provide customer service, such as limited instructions on proceeding with claims or referrals to auto repair facilities or local contractors.

Salary Range
USD $25.00 - USD $29.00 /Hr. rates offered based on years of experience
