Production Supervisor - 1st shift

SUMMARY: The Production Supervisor plays a key role in managing and coordinating the day-to-day manufacturing operations for the assigned production team. The position requires a self-motivated individual who communicates well with employees and is capable of supervising, supporting, and motivating others. Additionally, this position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws. The supervisor will focus on employee development, employee safety, continuous improvement activities, product quality, and food safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Responsible for directing the workforce to act in accordance with all product safety, regulatory compliance, and quality systems.
+ Reviews production schedules to ascertain projected workload, product types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
+ Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.
+ Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
+ Observes workflow and machine utilization to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
+ Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.
+ Works diplomatically to identify, address, and resolve employee conflicts or submits unresolved grievances to management for action.
+ Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
+ Meets with work teams at least once per week to discuss past results and work to resolve current problems.
+ Promotes and maintains the META initiative which emphasizes employee engagement, team building and continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS:
+ Minimum of one to three years of supervisory/leadership experience preferably in food processing
+ Ability to work onsite within a manufacturing plant environment which
+ BS/BA Degree preferred or an equivalent combination of experience and college
+ Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are a plus
+ Experience in effectively communicating, leading, motivating, and mentoring team
+ Must have excellent communication and leadership skills and possess strong mathematical aptitude
+ Must be flexible with work hours and be able to work overtime and/or weekends
+ Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.
