Medical Lab Technician (MLT),Laboratory

Job Type: PRN; Variable

Performs routine laboratory tests in various sections of the laboratory.

Core competencies include, but are not limited to the following:

* Performs common testing procedures and reports test results.

* Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

* Performs quality control testing.

* Maintains supplies needed for performance of tests.

* Labels,processesand delivers specimens for testing.

* Collects blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.

* Assistswith receiving,identifying, accessioning,processingand transporting specimens.

* Maintains work area in a safe,asepticand organized manner.

Minimum EducationAssociate of Applied Science degree in Clinical Laboratory Technology or equivalent and certification by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW), MLT(AMT) ORAAS equivalency by passing a certification exam given by a CLIA approved credentialing organization MLT(ASCP), CLT(NCA), MLT(HEW), MLT(AMT):□ Preferred, X Required

Required Licenses[Tennessee, United States] Clinical Laboratory Personnel Technician

MLT (ASCP) certification OR equivalent (AMT) OR State of Tennessee Medical Laboratory Technician license:□ Preferred X Required

Required SkillsCertifications:The below certifications will be required within 60 days of hire:X Basic Life Support (BLS)
