    Job Summary:

    A public manufacturing company seeks a Senior Cost Accountant for a contract role to support its finance team. This position will drive cost accounting processes, analyze production costs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial insight and operational efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs; maintain cost accounting systems.

    + Reconcile inventory and manufacturing variances, offering actionable insights.

    + Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and operational planning.

    + Streamline processes and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

    + Prepare cost reports and partner with teams to optimize cost efficiency.

    Requirements

    Qualifications:

    + Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    + Experience: 5+ years in manufacturing cost accounting. Public company experience is a plus.

    + Technical Skills: Proficient in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel; knowledge of Power BI or Tableau is a plus.

    + Soft Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    Contract Details:

    + Duration: 6-12 months with potential extension.

    + Compensation: $50-$70/hr, commensurate with experience.

    + Work Setup: Hybrid, with some onsite presence in Marlborough, MA.
