Description
We are looking for a skilled Benefits Manager with heavy experience in Retirements plans to join our team on a contract basis in Charlotte, North Carolina. This position involves overseeing key aspects of retirement management, compliance, and financial forecasting within the retail industry. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in benefits administration, financial planning, and regulatory compliance. Role is onsite, Charlotte, NC
Responsibilities:
• Manage forecasting of retirement benefits, including non-cash benefit payments and 401(k) plans.
• Collaborate with finance teams to ensure accurate financial projections and expense calculations.
• Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including 409A rules and SOX controls.
• Perform monthly forecasting, expense reporting, and calculations to support organizational goals.
• Oversee year-end and quarterly financial close processes.
• Conduct audits of 401(k) plans and ensure proper filings, such as Form 5500.
• Coordinate the preparation and mailing of annual report summaries.
• Provide strategic guidance on benefits design and administration.
• Lead ad hoc reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
• Maintain accurate documentation and controls for regulatory audits.
Requirements • At least 7 years of experience in retirement management, benefits administration, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of 401(k) and RRSP administration processes.
• Proficiency in financial planning and analysis, including expense forecasting.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and federal regulations such as 409A.
• Experience with Form 5500 filings and retirement plan audits.
• Ability to manage year-end and quarterly financial close processes.
• Skilled in ad hoc reporting and data analysis.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
