Description We are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to join our team on a long-term contract basis in St. Pete Beach, Florida. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the public sector by overseeing key HR functions such as recruitment, benefits administration, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in HR operations, particularly within government settings, and a strong commitment to fostering effective employee relations.
Responsibilities:
• Manage recruitment efforts for public sector roles, including developing interview questions, facilitating panels, and ensuring a fair and competitive hiring process.
• Coordinate background checks, prepare offer letters, and oversee onboarding to ensure a seamless experience for new hires.
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and supplemental plans.
• Perform accurate data entry and management to ensure compliance with governmental regulations.
• Maintain and organize personnel records using Laserfiche software for efficient recordkeeping.
• Collaborate with finance staff to support payroll processes on a bi-weekly basis.
• Utilize NeoGov software to streamline recruitment and related HR activities.
• Conduct E-Verify checks and ensure compliance with employment verification procedures.
• Provide additional HR support as needed to meet organizational goals. Requirements • Bachelor's degree preferred, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant HR experience in a government or public sector setting.
• Proficiency in HR software, including NeoGov, benefits administration portals, and payroll systems.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, to manage data effectively.
• Strong knowledge of compliance requirements and reporting within HR functions.
• HR certifications such as PHR or SHRM-CP are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on employee relations.
• Familiarity with FMLA and other employment laws and regulations.
