Description

Robert Half's client is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their growing team in West Palm Beach. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, preparing monthly financial statements, and ensuring accurate payroll tax filings. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries, within a dynamic accounting environment.

Responsibilities:

Month-End Close & Financial Reporting

+ Perform monthly closing of General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

+ Post all manual journal entries and monthly accruals.

+ Transfer and post journals from related modules (Payroll, A/P, A/R).

+ Reconcile and analyze all general ledger accounts, including:

+ Management fees

+ Prepaid expenses

+ Payroll taxes

+ Fixed assets

+ Bad debt

+ Workers’ compensation

+ Debt accounts

+ Prepare and print monthly financial statements for management review.

+ Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports.

Bank Reconciliations

+ Prepare and reconcile the General Account bank statements.

+ Reconcile daily payroll activity.

+ Reconcile and verify accuracy of all inter-account transfers.

Tax Filing & Compliance

+ Prepare and file all required state and local tax returns on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.

Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in accounting or a related field.

• Proficiency in journal entry preparation and general ledger management.

• Strong skills in monthly reconciliation processes and accounts receivable.

• Familiarity with payroll taxes and fixed asset accounting.

• Experience with month-end closing procedures and financial statement preparation.

• Knowledge of Great Plains Dynamics and advanced Excel capabilities.

• Ability to handle multi-state tax filings and compliance requirements.

• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
