Description

We are looking for a skilled Assistant Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Canton, Massachusetts in a part-time role. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial operations, including payroll processing, accounts payable, and general accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting systems and a proactive approach to streamlining processes.

Responsibilities:

• Manage payroll operations for approximately 180 employees on a weekly basis with minimal supervision.

• Oversee accounts payable processes and ensure timely and accurate payments.

• Perform bank reconciliations and assist with month-end and quarter-end closings.

• Prepare journal entries and maintain balance sheet accounts.

• Generate and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Contribute to process automation initiatives aimed at improving efficiency.

• Collaborate with teams to maintain financial integrity across the facility.

• Utilize accounting software systems to monitor and report financial activities.

• Provide support for audits and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

• Assist in documenting and refining financial procedures as needed.

Requirements • Proven experience with payroll processing and accounts payable functions.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems such as ADP, Concur, and Crystal Reports.

• Strong knowledge of financial reporting and general accounting principles.

• Ability to perform bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries.

• Experience in month-end and quarter-end closings and financial statement preparation.

• Familiarity with process automation and improving manual workflows.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and hit the ground running with minimal training.
