Description We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Agent to join our team in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. In this role, you will lead procurement processes, negotiate supplier agreements, and oversee contract management to ensure operational excellence. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in purchasing and supply chain management who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and issue Requests for Information and Requests for Quote, analyze supplier responses, and facilitate supplier selection and contract negotiations.
• Secure quotes for new and existing products, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing, lead times, and terms to optimize contracts.
• Develop, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts, including amendments and blanket order adjustments.
• Create purchase orders for production components, ensuring timely communication with suppliers and internal teams to meet delivery specifications and inventory goals.
• Monitor and track commodity spending, documenting cost savings and process improvements for management reporting.
• Conduct supplier evaluations and audits based on metrics such as quality, delivery, pricing, and reliability, assigning supplier statuses accordingly.
• Implement cost-reduction programs and supplier analysis initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiency and support strategic goals.
• Investigate and resolve supplier-related complaints, ensuring compliance with agreements and purchase orders.
• Develop strategies to mitigate risks from market fluctuations, including tracking trends and identifying cost drivers.
• Provide expert knowledge on specialized procurement items and establish alternative sourcing solutions for emergencies or production continuity. Requirements • Proven experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management.
• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to analyze supplier proposals and secure favorable terms.
• Proficiency in managing supplier contracts and evaluating vendor performance metrics.
• Familiarity with creating purchase orders and maintaining optimal inventory levels.
• Ability to implement cost-reduction initiatives and document process improvements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address supplier-related issues effectively.
• Knowledge of market trends and strategies to mitigate risks in procurement.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
