Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in East Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you will play a critical part in managing financial processes and ensuring accuracy in reporting. This is a long-term contract position ideal for someone with advanced accounting skills and keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.

• Manage month-end close procedures, including reconciliations and adjustments.

• Oversee general ledger maintenance, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

• Conduct detailed account reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring timely and accurate balancing.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support audits and financial reviews.

• Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for process improvements.

• Maintain adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and implement efficient accounting procedures to optimize workflows.

• Provide support and guidance to less experienced accounting staff as needed. Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close processes.

• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting.

• Expertise in preparing and reviewing journal entries.

• Proficiency in account and bank reconciliations.

• Familiarity with accounting principles and financial regulations.

• Attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial data.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification preferred.
