Description We are looking for a skilled Civil Defense Attorney to join our team in Walnut Creek, California. In this role, you will manage high-stakes litigation cases, focusing on defending trucking companies in accident claims from pre-suit investigation through trial and appeal. This is an excellent opportunity to work on complex lawsuits for prominent clients, including Fortune 100 corporations and leading insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the defense of trucking companies in accident claims, managing cases from pre-suit investigation through trial and appellate proceedings.

• Conduct thorough legal research and draft persuasive motions, briefs, and other court filings.

• Handle depositions and represent clients in hearings, mediations, and trials.

• Collaborate with clients, including Fortune 100 companies and top-rated insurers, to develop effective litigation strategies.

• Oversee the preparation and organization of case files using document and case management systems.

• Analyze claims and complaints to identify legal risks and develop defense strategies.

• Manage trial preparation, including evidence collection and witness interviews.

• Provide guidance to less experienced team members and ensure compliance with legal standards.

• Maintain strong communication with clients to keep them informed of case progress.

• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations impacting civil litigation and insurance defense. Requirements • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active bar admission in the state of California.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in civil litigation or insurance defense.

• Proficiency in legal research and drafting motions, briefs, and other court documents.

• Familiarity with case management and document management software.

• Strong skills in conducting depositions, trial preparation, and courtroom representation.

• Ability to manage high-exposure and complex litigation cases independently.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team collaboration.
