Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance to join our team for a contract position lasting two months. This role is based in Irvine, California, and offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in financial planning, modeling, and analysis within the retail or manufacturing sectors. The ideal candidate will bring over a decade of experience, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to develop and optimize budgeting and forecasting processes.
Responsibilities:
• Lead the development and enhancement of budgeting and forecasting processes to drive financial efficiency.
• Conduct detailed financial modeling to support strategic decision-making and investment planning.
• Analyze large datasets to extract actionable insights and improve financial outcomes.
• Perform budget-to-actual variance analysis to identify trends and recommend corrective actions.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions to manage financial data and create comprehensive reports.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with broader organizational goals.
• Provide expert guidance on financial reporting and compliance to ensure accuracy and transparency.
• Drive process improvements in financial operations to optimize performance and scalability.
• Apply industry experience to address unique challenges in retail or manufacturing finance.
• Support the implementation and integration of any relevant financial systems or tools. Requirements
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with significant exposure to retail or manufacturing industries.
• Proven expertise in developing and executing budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and its application in financial reporting.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze large datasets and derive meaningful insights.
• Experience with budget-to-actual variance analysis and corrective action planning.
• Strong leadership and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
• Familiarity with financial systems and tools used in corporate finance environments; SAP and Power BI preferred
