Summary This is a NAF position with the 17th Force Support Squadron, located at the Event Center, within the Community Services Flight on Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo, Texas. This position is considered Flexible. The position is not guaranteed any hours, but has the potential to work up to 40 hours per week. You may be required to work some nights, weekends and holidays. As a flexible employee, you are not eligible for leave or benefits Responsibilities Sells a variety of merchandise items such as prepackaged snacks and candy. Operates cash register, rings up the sale, receives the money and makes change, processes credit card sales, or charges to member's account. At the end of each tour of duty clears the cash register, and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed. Conducts daily inventories and maintains area in a clean and orderly condition. In a food activity- in addition to check out procedures may perform duties such as setting up tables, and serving lines, clearing pates when customers have finished, monitoring or serving from the buffet lines. Cleaning tables and surrounding area after customers are gone. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Experience in clerical, office, or retail work of any kind in which the applicant demonstrated the ability to perform common arithmetic problems, cash handling, and making change when receiving payments from customers is desirable, but not required. Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must be able to obtain a Food Handler's Certificate. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier-1 background investigation Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.. A probationary period may be required. Pre-employment requirements must be satisfactorily met prior to Entrance on Duty (EOD).
