**SALARY:** $22.75/hour, bonus eligible
**SHIFT:** Monday – Friday, 6am – 4pm
**LOCATION:** Goose Island Beer Company – Chicago, IL (This position is 100% in-person with no remote work.)

ROLE SUMMARY:
Our Packaging Team performs all responsibilities in Canning, Bottling, Kegging and re-pack of our beer. They assure that beer is packaged in bottles, cans, and kegs ready for distribution and sale. This is an entry-level position in a fast-paced production environment. This is a physically intensive role that requires exceptional motivation, a true passion for craft beer, and scheduling flexibility. This position reports to the Packaging Supervisor but will also take direction from the Packaging Manager and Packaging Leads.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Operate packaging department equipment in high-speed beverage manufacturing environment.
+ Perform basic troubleshooting and minor repairs to ensure production equipment runs efficiently.
+ Responsible for production, package, and flavor changeovers as per packaging schedule.
+ Keep daily records of down time and machine operations.
+ Understands and adheres to high standards or safety, quality, and accuracy.
+ Follows HACCP & Food Safety Guidelines.
+ Complete the tasks related to re-packs of our beer.
+ Complete machine audits.
+ Clean kegs and ensures keg stock is in properly maintained, cleans bottling/kegging/canning facilities, and keep proper cleaning logs and paperwork.
+ Self-motivated for continuous improvement of personal skills and systems.
+ Performing quality checks throughout production runs.
+ Perform daily & weekly cleaning throughout the department.
+ Spot and remove damaged products or supplies, as needed.
+ Maintain a positive attitude and work ethic to promote a healthy and safe working environment within the team.
+ Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment.
+ Willingness to cross-train.
+ Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
+ High School Diploma or GED required.
+ Forklift certified, or ability to obtain one soon after hiring.
+ Prior experience in a packaging environment or manufacturing experience in food and/or beverage industry preferred.
+ Strong technical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.
+ Ability to carry/lift up to 75 lbs unassisted.
+ Ability to repetitively maneuver up to 40 lbs continuously throughout shift.
+ Must be able to work on your feet for 8 hours or more.
+ Must be able to work around steam, electricity, harsh chemicals, and solvents.
+ Flexibility to work day and/or afternoon shifts, including weekends and holidays.
+ General knowledge of occupational hazards and necessary safety precautions associated with work.
